How to get rid of Chest Acne
How to get rid of Chest Acne
If you the have been suffering from chest acne, you know how uncomfortable it is and the seriousness of the situation. Here is a list of things you will want to avoid that can make your situation worse:
- Do not apply deodorants, body powders, talcum powders, and non-acne treatment lotions or any other greasy lotion. Do not use anything on your chest that can block the pores.
- Everyone sweats, especially during the summer. The sweat mixes with the natural moisturizer your glands produce (sebum), which then blocks the pores. To protect yourself , wash your chest or other acne-prone areas instantly after intense perspiration. Take a shower, which will wash away all the dirt, sebum and sweat.
- Try not to wear tight clothing. With tight clothes, the fabric collects sweat in between the cloth and the skin which will block the pores. Loose fitting cotton clothes are the best. It allows the skin to breathe and the sweat to evaporate.
- Do not use laundry detergents or fabric softeners that have a fragrance or irritating chemicals. Check the label for “fragrance free” or “for sensitive skin”. Residue left behind on your clothes after being washed can aggravate your skin and cause irritation, pimples or blackheads.
- For those who have chest acne make sure that you do not pick or pop a pimple with your exposed hands or try to slash through a cyst. By doing this you might get an infection and can also cause scars.
How Acne starts
The formation of acne in adulthood starts with the shedding of epidermal cells. The flakes (skin cells) shed by the epidermis then clog up the skin’s pores. Sebum (oil) produced by the oil glands in the skin is released through these pores. Since the pores are clogged, the oil builds up under the skin, creating the perfect environment for bacteria to grow.
Most products for acne treatment attempt to clear the pores and create a less favorable environment for the bacteria to flourish. These treatments are targeted as a symptom reducing strategy. What is the real cause of acne, whether it is facial, chest, body or buttocks acne?
Your Body is trying to tell you something
Your skin is the largest organ in your body. It is also one of the organs along with the liver, kidney and digestive tract that is responsible for eliminating toxins. We are all constantly being exposed to toxins, air pollution, chlorine in our water (especially when we shower), food additives, over the counter and prescription drugs, off gassing from plastics and fabrics and the list goes on.
Your body excretes many of these toxins through your skin as part of the body’s natural cleansing process. Body acne and especially chest acne is a symptom of your body trying to eliminate a heavy toxic load. No Acne treatment would be complete without a holistic approach including cleansing.
